With Halloween around the corner, it’s an appropriate time to talk candy.
Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis know I was less than enthralled with the Premium M&Ms that were introduced last year. But I was pleasantly surprised by a recent sampling of the latest addition to the M&M lineup, an M&M with a pretzel in the middle.
Pretzel M&M’s look like peanut M&M, but they’re much lighter (which means you can eat more of them in one sitting). And they’ve got a salty/sweet thing going on, combining the tastes that people most often crave. I suppose it’s not much different from mixing popcorn with chocolate candy, which I often see moviegoers do at theatres.
I’m a skeptic when it comes to riffs on the basic M&M. After all, why mess with success? Can’t have too much of a good thing? Fortunately, the Mars company got it right this time, the pretzel M&M is a worthy entry into the M&M family.
But I still think the Premium line ought to be junked.
